Gaming Line

Skull-HQ.

A desktop companion for Skullcandy's new gaming headsets, with hardware and software shipped in lockstep through launch.

The Challenge.

Skullcandy needed a Windows companion app to launch alongside its new gaming headsets. The app also needed to be extensible to macOS and integrate directly with the hardware. The catch: the app and the headsets had to ship together, on the same launch date, with no room for either side to slip.

The Challenge.

The Solution.

We chose Electron for multi-platform support from a shared codebase, with two parallel teams: one on the Electron app and one in lockstep with the hardware team. Tight feedback loops between firmware and software kept both tracks aligned through every milestone.

The Solution.

The Outcome.

Skullcandy shipped the new gaming product line with Skull-HQ on time. Media reviews singled it out as a polished, delightful companion experience, with hardware and software arriving together exactly as planned.
