The Challenge
A fast moving product, and a foundation that needed to catch up Marq’s core application had grown over years while newer projects and prototypes were moving quickly alongside it. Some of that work needed stronger architecture, security, and engineering standards before it could support production at scale. At the same time, the roadmap kept moving. Marq needed to expand its public API, deliver new integrations, and prepare a critical migration from CAS to Branding Services without introducing downtime or disrupting existing product work.
The Solution
Strengthening the platform while the roadmap kept moving Ravn engineers embedded directly into Marq’s existing Scala, Play Framework, Angular, and TypeScript stack, working alongside the internal team across both delivery and modernization. The team expanded Marq’s authenticated public API and delivered SSO and publishing integrations, including SundaySky, Google Drive, Flipsnack, and Printforce. In parallel, Ravn reviewed the architecture and security of newer projects, identified production risks, and helped move prototype work toward a more scalable and maintainable foundation. For the CAS-to-Branding-Services migration, Ravn mapped dependencies and technical requirements to create a controlled path forward without disrupting existing services.
The Outcome
A stronger foundation without slowing delivery Across three engagements, Marq continued shipping while strengthening the systems behind the product. API and integration work was delivered as planned, while the broader modernization engagement was completed within budget and ahead of schedule. The result was a platform better prepared for what came next: stronger engineering foundations, clearer paths for modernization, and new product capabilities delivered without putting the roadmap on hold.
